Sarah

Whenever I try to open my documents/my computer (and any
subfolders) or internet explorer from either the desktop
of the start menu my desktop completely refreshs and does
not open the requested folder.
Have tried running a virus scan which has found nothing.
Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Sarah

I know you have run a virus check but it might also be worth checking for
spyware using "Spybot Search and Destroy" (or similar) free from.

Also look in the System Event Log using the Event Viewer (see help and
support)... Restart your PC and note the exact time on the system clock.
Then provoke the error by opening My Documents. Then look for the first
error around the time you noted. If you double click on an error message in
the log and more info technical info will be displayed. There is also a
button you can click to copy the message to the clip board so you can post
it here.
