"My Computer" and drives don't appear in Windows Explorer any long

For some reason, when I open up Windows Explorer, it no longer shows "My
Computer" or any drives -- no hard drives or optical drives or usb
flashdrives. It doesn't show them on the folders sidebar nor in the address
bar. The only options are "Desktop" and "My Documents". Same is true in
Internet Explorer. Programs like MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint show the folders
normally, though.

Hello,

It sounds like your drives have been hidden. Use TweakUI and find the
settings that hide and unhide your drives. Makes sure none of them are
shown as hidden in TweakUI and that should solve it.

If not you may have a problem similar to mine wherein no drives show in
My Computer on the start page. I can still access them through the drop
down location bar, but they don't show on the page. It's just blank, not
even Control Panel is shown.

I don't know how to solve this and have asked in quite a few places with
no solutions coming forward. Keep me posted on your progress with this
issue as you may find the answer before me.
