***Windows Explorer***....and *.avi problem

hi...
problem.....click on any *.avi files and windows explorer close it
self due to problem...

my fix ...it works for me

i had installed ...ffdshow codec....
i simply uninstalled.....reboot....and i can play my movies again...:)
so far no problems with playing the movies nor windows explorer

Natka,

I believe the ffdshow codec is for Divx. If you dont have Media Player 10,
upgrade. The rebooting was a default Windows setting that annoys the hell
out of me and is the first thing I disable. If you want to disable:
* right-click My Computer > Properties > Advanced tab
* click the 'settings' button under heading 'startup & recovery'
* Uncheck 'automatically restart', click 'OK'
* reboot
