Windows Exploreer and AVI files

Guys
I'm running XP SP2.
I have some small AVI fies on my digital camera which are handled OK by
media player ( I can open , play and save to hard disc)
These files are small circa 5mb.However when I try to open in windows
explorer, explorer hangs there is an article in MKB 822430 recommending
installation of the latest service pack (which I have)
yet the issue remains.

Any help would be appreciated.

Guys
I fixed it.
It was my grphics card ATI 9000 Pro it required a driver update for XP SP2.
I hopr this helps someone else.
