about a month ago my PC after displaying the Windows
loading screen, hanged on a blank black screen,
and mouse and keyboard were dead (no lights).
After rebooting my PC, it worked fine.

However this happend randomly when ever I booted or
rebooted my pc. And to this day, it started to happen
more often.

With a difference of only once, the mouse and keyboard worked,
and on screen I could see only my mouse pointer. As I moved
it around a bubble(info) came up in the black blank screen.
From this I realised I was in the login screen. However,
I never succeded to log in, in that case.

Now.. Today my PC will not boot in any way.
I replaced ram with another pc, its not it.
I tried live CD's, they didn't boot up either, its not HD
I disabled Network devices form BIOS. still d same

BDW when I try to boot in SafeMode, it hangs on the file MUP.SYS
on forums online I found lots of references on it, but can't seem
to solve my problem.

Any ideas?

k .. I sort of solved d problem here.
what I need to point out is that I couldn't boot from the XP Setup CD. It hanged on Setup is Loading Windows...

this frustrated me, and after searching for solutions online, I decided to detach all hardware not needed for booting. Then it worked. I started adding the hardware (PCI Cards and stuff) back in and each time trying the Setup. I couldn't be more frustrated than i was when the setup worked also after I reassambled all the hardware back in.

Then I done a Full Format and reinstalled linux. I suppose that what happend was maybe a prob with the MBR or I have bad clusters in my HD, which I will soon check out.

Thanks Captain Jack Sparrow for your suggestion =)

What was causing the problem?
A component not seated correctly? Loose connection, tut tut tut.
Jokin, I have had same problems, don't worry.:D
