Windows does not recognize .PPS files

I have Power Point installed on my PC. When I click on a .PPS file a message
states Windows can't recognize the program that created it. When I CLICK ON
THE LIST OF FILES Power Point is highlightee and I can then open the file.
How do I tell Windows to automatically open all .PPS files using Power Point?

Right click on the file and select properties. Then change the default program.
