Windows Digital Locker Corrupt Re-install?

Q

Quilnux

Hello,

Somehow my Digital Locker which came with Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 seems
to have been corrupt. Is there anyway to reinstall the Digital Locker without
reinstalling Vista? I know that there is an installer download at Windows
Marketplace which I've used on my Windows XP systems but I didn't want to
install it on Vista until I know that it's safe for Vista. Thanks for any
help.

I don't know if that will work. I tried to load the one at Marketplace (not
out of need but rather out of ignorance at the time) and it wouldn't load
because "Vista includes Digital Locker" (or something to that effect).

I have an even simpler fix for this.

Navigate to your Users folder then to the path below:

C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\digital locker

Under the Digital locker folder you will find a folder called 'ProductImage'
and 3 files

ProductData.bin
Urls.bin
ErrorLog.log

Just to be safe, create a Folder in this directory and call it 'Oldbin'.
this is where you will place both .bin files and the .log file for temporary
keeping.

MOVE not COPY the .bin and .log files to this new folder.

Digital Locker should work fine now. you can test by going to

C:\Windows\DigitalLocker and running "digitalx.exe"

After Digital locker starts ther will be 2 new .bin files in:

C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\digital locker

once you aer satisfied that Digital Locker is working as expected, and you
can download all the files you purchased. you can delete the temporary folder
'Oldbin'

Hope this helps. It sure is a lot easier than blowing away your hole user
profile ; -)
