I absolutely hate it and can't find how to get rid of it.. I don't know the
number of it.. or I can simply uninstall it.. I have tried to do a system
restore and one didn't work and the other didnt correct the problem.. I
would appreciate knowing how to get rid of it. thanks, Rainy

System Restores are just what they say: SYSTEM restores. They are not
partition images to restore a partition back to a prior state. Do not
expect a system restore point to ever undo an install or uninstall of an
*application*. If you decide you want Windows Search back after
uninstalling it, you will need to *install* it. Unless you are very
sloppy in organizing your data files or have to share a file resource
with others, you probably don't need any file indexing/search utility.

YW. I doubt you need to create a special Restore Point, but it won't
hurt. :)

In fact, running System Restore *after* uninstalling that particular
Windows update (to the time before you installed it, of course) would
make more sense, but I doubt you even need to do this.

I am not sloppy at all.. but didn't know that windows search was not in
windows.. and if it's windows you are trying to restore, it would
automatically put it back.. learned something new here.. hugs Rainy ps I
thought it was going to be an improvement on windows search. .not this
completely new way to search which I really hate.. It doesn't appear you can
browse.. but maybe I haven't given it a chance..hugs Rainy
