IE 8

Rainy

I just installed IE8 and found that where you input words on a page, like
google search or a form.. it's super tiny.. about the size of a quarter
inch. So I tried to reinstall it.. and got the prompt I would not be able
to uninstall it.. because of the new updates I just installed. So I tried
to uninstall it and got the prompt It couldn't be uninstalled anyway.. I
guess the install didn't go great.. I would appreciate knowing how to fix
this.. either how to uninstall it.. or fix the problem I have with it..
thanks, hugs Rainy

did you know that if you hold down the control key and spin the wheel on
your mouse you can increase or decrease font size within IE?

maybe that will get it back to a normal size.

Let me just add to that that this is a Windows standard, and works,
not only in IE, but in many (but not all) applications.

unfortunately didn't work..what it did was increase the zoom. maybe it's a
google problem.. I appreciate this group very much..and anyone who responds
with help.. hugs Rainy

Hello,
If possible remove the updates that were installed after IE8 then try to
remove IE8.
If this works and you want to reinstall IE8, would suggest downloading from
Microsoft and save to disc.
Clean up the system, (empty temp etc.) and the installed browser (delete
hist., etc). Go off line and close AV and any AntiMalware them install IE8.
Sometimes one of these programs cause problems.
Hope this works for you.
take care.

there were never any updates after I installed it.. I updated right after I
repaired my operating system, and got IE8 at the same time. you might be
right, as far as programs causing the problem.. The google page is the only
thing I see wrong with it.. I can us firefox..so it's not a tragic problem..
I was told I could not uninstall it after this last one.. I am very
deligent about maintenance.. so I know that wasn't the problem.. I have a
fairly old computer and take very good care of it.. best I can.anyway... Ok
to make sure I was right, I just went to add and remove and there is no
entry for IE8... Not sure why Microsoft wants you to keep something.. that
you might not want! Thanks for the input.. hugs Rainy ps next time when I
install something, I will do as you suggested.. so this post was not a lost
cause.. I did learn something..
