Windows Desktop Search tool

Hi All,

Some time ago I downloaded and installed Windows Desktop Search tool (was
installed as an Automatic Update I believe.) As far as I can tell this tool
is worthless, it seems to perform no vital functions as far as cataloging or
indexing files (seems to be idle most of the time.)

Seems like everytime I've done Maintenance on my System, this tool has had
Application errors at startup, and has had to be restarted with a reboot.
I would like to uninstall this app ... however...

When I go into add/remove programs and select to remove the software, I get
a list of programs " if you remove this application the software listed
below ( in my case, 7/8ths of the software thats installed on my Drive C ,)
might not run or function properly" if the Windows Desktop Search tool is
removed.

Whats up with that?

How do I get rid of this program??

This message is displayed if you've installed addition software after
something has registered a .DLL in the registry during its installation.
Normally you can ignore this message unless you've installed something that
depends on the software that you are trying to remove.

The message is displayed because other software may use a .DLL that is about
to be removed. With the Desktop Search tool this is highly unlikely to happen
but if it does happen all you would normally need to do is re-install the
other software that depended upon the .DLL that was removed.
