Windows - Delayed Write Failed

When I am writing files to a network server, I keep
getting the message "WINDOWS - DELAYED WRITE FAILED
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file
\\SERVER\DIRECTORY\FILENAME. The data has been lost. This
error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware
or network connection. Please try to save this file
elsewhere."

The files ARE being copied successfully though.
Any way I can rectify this?

You may experience this when a hard drive is going bad. I suggest you
replace the drive ASAP if you are storing vital information on it. You can
frequently chkdsk the drive as well, which will buy you some time. I've
seen this when the drive overheats as well.

This is a network drive that is a RAID drive and no-one
else has the problem but me. I found that the files
were'nt copied successfully, but rather truncated. Since
running Windows Update, it has ceased to occur. Apparently
this is a know issue with XP. I didn't have the problem
until I rebuilt my PC and neglected to install all the
updates.
