Windows Defender will not start up automatically -- HELP!!



Yesterday I received and automatic update for Windows Live OneCare and since
that update installed on my system, Windows Defender WILL NOT start

Each time I turn on my system I get an Orange Defencer Icon down in the
lower left hand corner of the Start Bar and when I click on it, it opens up
and tells me that Defender is not on and I need to start Defender.

I have check all of the settings on Defender and they are on, and correct
and I even ran a re-install from my add'remove programs and Defender still
will NOT start automatically during start up.

Help please and would appreicare some of the MVP's comments on this. I have
been using Defender for a very long time (since the inception of the Beta
version) and have never had a problem and I might add that I have version
1.1.1593.0 installed.
