windows defender update downloads problem

(I also have norton internet security on my computer.) I have had Windows
Defender on my computer for about 6 months, I think. As late as Jan. 29th, I
was able to download windows defender definition updates, but for the last
week or so, I have not been able to. I've gotten error messages Ox8024002
and Ox80072ee2. I have tried to go through the "help stuff" and cannot get
any information about either of these errors. I did see something about
disabling your firewall, temporarily, to see if you were able to download the
new definitions, and that didn't help either. (I did enable the firewall
after that.)

I'm at a loss as to what to do, and I've now spent several hours trying to
figure this out.

Thanks for any help I can get.

I suggest you look through the posts in and if needed post to the Windows
Update newsgroup and one of the Windows Defender newsgroup:

As I proffered in a previous thread, you would be better off w/o NIS.
