Has anyone come across this problem?
I have 'options' set to carry out a quick scan daily. Windows Defender (WD)
duly scans and tells me 'no unwanted or harmful software is detected'.
Today, I chose to run a full scan manually. When the scan reached System
Volume Information, WD hung and would continue no further. The 'ticker bar'
(or whatever you call it) was still scrolling, but the file count was static.
I left it in this state for quite a while then decided to stop the scan. This
was not possible, except by using Task Manager to end the program.
I didn't really believe what was happening, so I chose a custom scan of just
System Volume Information Folder and the same 'fault' occurred.
Any ideas anyone, preferably Microsoft.
