Windows Defender don't even start

Hello,

After trying and liking Microsoft Antispyware Beta 1, I tried to switch to
Windows defender. The installation process go smooth, but when I try to start
it, I get this message (It's in french since I'm using a french version of
Windows) "Application failed to initialize: 0x80010534. Le mappage entre les
noms de compte et les ID de sécurité n'a pas été effectué." I was wondering
if there is a way to make the application run. I'm using Windows 2000
professionnal (french), I've tried the new version of Windows Defender, I'm
using Service Pack 4 and I've installed the lastest updates.

Hope there is a way to make it work

You are doing fine--I've now seen that message in 6 different languages, I
think, including good translations into English, and I still don't have a
workaround or fix for it, I'm afraid. You can search based on the numeric
code and commiserate with other sufferers, but I don't think anybody has
managed to get past it.
