Windows Defender and System Mechanic 7 Professional

Has anyone encountered any incompatibilities when installing WD in a system
that already has System Mechanic running? Just so that we are clear, I am
running System Mechanic without its Antivirus and Firewall programs (I
already have Norton Antivirus running in this system, and I have not had any
problems in my system from having both Norton and SM running)... Before
installing the WD my system was running fine, but after installing, it is now
crawling when it comes to speed and performance...

There have been numerous reports here of problems with NIS/NAV at version
2005 and above in conjunction with WD. I've disabled my 2005 Norton option
controlling internal product protection which generates thousands of
alerts daily for both my WD and Spysweeper when they try to monitor
Norton's activity on my system. Are you certain your not getting conflicts
which would show up in the Norton Log Viewer category Symantec Resource
Protector / Alerts?

Thanks Dave, I'll look into those logs to see if this conflicts appear...

However, on a hunch, I decided to uninstall the Windows Defender, and as I
suspected, once it was uninstalled, my system started acting normal again...
Still, I'll dig for those logs you mentioned... If I DO see those conflicts
you mentioned, I know now (thanks to you) what's causing it...

Out of curiosity, since this will be the first time I'm looking into the
logs, would you happen to know what kind of specific log message I should
check for?

Again, thanks,

Eddie
