Windows Defender and GPO to schedule scan

L

Luca

Hello,
I'll need to force automatic Windows Defender scan at fixed hour (daily)
centrally for all my computers (about 500).
What could be the best way to do this ?

- Customize the WindowsDefender.adm file to add registry to manage schedule
scan ?
- Create a logon script that change the scheduled task on Task Scheduler ?
- What else ?

Thank you a lot for answer.

Bye, Luca

Hello Luca,

For enterprise use, the Microsoft product incorporating antispyware
functionality and designed for automated deployment and management is
Microsoft Forefront Client Security.

I would recommend that you have a look here
<http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/clientsecurity/default.mspx>

I hope this post is helpful, let us know how it works ºut.

Hello,
I know I cannot use Windows Defender on Enterprise Environment but at the
moment we cannot implement ForeFront Client.
So, do you have an answer to these questions:

this ?

1. Customize the WindowsDefender.adm file to add registry to manage schedule

2. Deploy Registry Key automatically to change time schedule.

Thank you a lot.

Hi Luca F.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to these questions:.

Sorry can not find any info on these questions maybe one of the others on
the newsgroup have seen it...

I would suggest waiting just a bit longer for some replies from experienced
users.

Good luck

I don't know enough about enterprise management to answer this, but I'd
concentrate on deploying my own scheduled job to do this, and turn off
scheduled scanning In Windows Defender.

If you run your own job you may even be able to get some stats or reporting
of some sort, and you have complete control over the timing and user
credentials, etc.
