Do you mean chkdsk doesn't run, or that there are no results, or nothing
changes after running chkdsk or what?

Bluesky, try going to Control Panel>Add Remove Programs and
uninstall/reinstall Norton/Symantec. If that's not an option go to
Start>Run type: msconfig proceed to Startup and uncheck any items you
see Symantec or Norton. Click Apply Ok. Restart, and after windows loads
up
try the chkdsk utility again. It will probably say it can't run now
but will on next restart. So restart and you should see it working. After
it finishes reverse the first procedure which
will get Symantec/Norton back working again.

I do have kind of the same problem. The corrupt files are always in
Documents and Settings.

I tried different way to check the HDD for bad sectors, but I wonder is it
is not some problem with
Norton 360 ?

Occurs every 2 or 3 reboots. Often the Norton files are corrupted, or some
..tmp files... Weird !

FYI, You can test the drive with a free diagnostic utility from the
drive manufacturers website.
