Am getting an error message on my laptop that the
operating system cannot be found. Am on a trip and do not
have the windows 2000 prof. CD. Is there anyway of
accesing my computers. The safe mode boot mode is also not
operational.

Thanks

I'm afraid your laptop needs to go on a workbench.

You ***may*** be able to access your data files
by their short file names with this approach, but
only if you are familiar with DOS navigating commands:

- Get a Win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com
- Get a copy of ntfsdos.exe from www.sysinternals.com
- Boot the laptop with the Win98 boot disk.
- Run this command: ntfdos /L:EFGH

Now go to drives C: or D: and navigate to where you
keep your files. If you can find any then you can copy
them to your floppy disk, but only if they are smaller
than 1.44 MBytes.
