Windows boot issue

As system is booting up and the "Windows Opening"
interface is displayed, then a DOS screen, (in Windows),is
displayed, wanting to do a 'Disk Check' on a secondary
hard drive. Then, after a long 3-phase 'check', it freezes
up.
Anyone recognize this ?
 
Have you tried Booting up in Safe mode? If that doesn't work maybe the
"secondary" disk is broken? Try disconnecting it and then try booting.
