Windows Automatic Upgrade

I'm on XP Professional, version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600. I get an
automatic message to install patches. After going throught the processe and
rebooting, my system never fully boots up. I had to reload from a system
backup and boot disk to be able to restore my system.

Is there any way to get through to a person at Microsoft to find out next
steps?

Your catroot2 folder is probably corrupt.
