Windows XP Home Edition Startup Error - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I have had this problem since morning and my attempts at restoring previous
system restore points using Norton's did not work. I am not able to read the
rest of the error message as a pattern of vertical lines appears almost
immediately. I am able to boot up the PC in safe mode with and without
networking, but it does not work even in clean boot mode. In one of my
attempt to solve this problem, I had removed system services and
inadvertently deleted all previous restore points in the process.

The details of my system, in case they are required, are as follows:
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
System Name BADRI
System Manufacturer acer
System Model Aspire 1700
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~2600 Mhz
BIOS Version/Date acer 3B42, 17/10/2003
SMBIOS Version 2.31
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "5.1.2600.2180
(xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)"
Total Physical Memory 512.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 153.04 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB
Page File Space 1.03 GB
Page File C:\pagefile.sys

Any suggestions on solving this problem are welcome. Thanks in advance.

You deleted System Services? For that you are dubbed "IDtenT" (write it down)
Try the SFC feature, SFC = System File Check, which when run will replace
missing or corrupt system files. Run it in Safe Mode.
Start>Run>type SFC /SCANNOW (space between C and /)
Have your XP CD handy for it probably will ask for it. Good luck. :~)

Oops! Sorry. I didn't mean it that way. I didn't realise it came out that
waya dn only realised it when I saw you r post. Thanks for pointing out the
error. What I meant was that I had not loaded system services during one of
my attempts to sort this out. Is there any way I can edit the original
posting?

The exact error that appears is as follows:
A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you have seen this Stop error screenm restart your
computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If
this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for
any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or
software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you
need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer,
press F8 to select Advanced Startup options, and then select safe mode.

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000000,0x00000001,0x00000002,0x804DC11D)

Any assistance would be appreciated.
