windows Aero not working

S

Scot St Hilaire

Hello

I had to replace hard drive and memory due to spyware issues and it turned
out a bad hard drive. Since the change I have been geting windows aero not
working on start up everytime. I click resolve and it seems to go through
fine but it is back on start up again. Now It seems I have a windows registry
error and I think the two are linked.

How do i resolve these issues?

Scot

You might need to refresh your Windows Experience Index (WEI) rating.
1. Click Start
2. In the search box, type Performance Information and Tools, hit enter
3. Click the Update my score link
4. Click Continue on the User Account Control dialog

Ensure the following services are running:
- Desktop Windows Manager
- Themes

(Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services).

I ran the search you mentioned below and the search results show nothing at
all therefore this is not going to fix the issue

There is nothing retaining to Search results in my response, please read it
again and try the procedures.

With all due respect Curt, Under System information and tools, my only otions
are as follows:

Device Manager
remote Settings
System Protection
advances system settings

Upgrade Windows vista
online support

And that is all. there is no option for update my score or anything close
too that.

And Andre:

With all due respect too you as well you said"There is nothing retaining to
Search results in my response, please read it
again and try the procedures. " however in your instructions you stated as
follows:

2. In the search box, type Performance Information and Tools, hit enter

Yes, you did ask me to run a search in the search box and type as above.
There were no results when completing that task. I am sure you guys know this
stuff better then I but I almost think you have a different version of VISTA

Scot,

What version of Vista are you using? What video card do you have? Are you
sure that your video card can handle the Aero effects? The last 2 are the
major ones. Not all onboard video can handle the Aero. I would check up on
that.

I am assuming since it is a stock Dell computer that the software and
computer match.
