Hello. I recently got Windows Vista Home Prenium and the Aero Setting wont
work. Ive tries all the things reccomended on the site but it wont work.
I know the computer is capable of Aero because occasianlly when we start up
the pc aero is working but then it randomly goes back to Windows Vista
Basic. HELP!
Whenever we go to Personalization and Appearance Setting we click on Aero,
click ok/apply, it goes the black and white 'please wait' sign and them come
back still with Windows Vista Basic. HEEEELLLLLPP!!!

Check your startup programs, you may have something running
that forces Aero to turn off. What are your Experience Ratings?

Use TaskManager and Defender

Go to System Maker / Mother Board Maker, Video Card Maker
and so on and update your drivers, particularly Video and any
hard drive drivers and/or utilities. Check the BIOS too,,,,

Check to see if your video card can even support Aero.
If so...try updating the drivers.

It is crucial to mention what model computer and what video card & how much
video memory you have. Vista requires a separate video card w min 128mb
memory to support Aero (256 is better) or a high powered video card in a
notebook. Run the Windows Upgrade Advisor on the vista install disk now to
see what hardware or software is not up to snuff. Vista really does better on
a new computer or a recent desktop model with upgrades. It does not run well
