Windows 98 Windows XP incompatability Internet Connection Sharing

I have ICS installed on a Windows 98 machine. Connected
to it are 3 machines one Windows 98 works great. One
Windows ME works well to. One is a Windows XP machine and
it has randomly worked. 99% of the time it will not let
me go out on the internet. I have tried to use the ICS
disk that the Windows 98 computer generates, and I have
tried to use The Disk that the XP computer generates.

Don't use any disks to set up the xp machine, you don't need them. Run
either the network wizard from network connections, or the internet
connection wizard that's found on the connection tab of the options in IE.
Ive found on my xp that the options for each of these wizards is different.
On the network connections wizard I tell the computer Im connected to the
internet via a residential gateway , if using the IE options I tell it Im
setting up connection manually and that Im permanently connected to internet
via broadband connection.
Else go to the following link and follow instructions there
