windows 98 and windows xp

Renee

I installed windows xp over my windows 98 and now my
computer has both operating systems. When I boot my
computer it gives me a choose between these two systems.
However, when I choose xp the programs that were in 98
did not transfer over, so I decided that I want to go
back to 98 but do not know how to delete xp. It is not
in the add/remove programs and I do not have my startup
disk for 98. It was installed by the manufacturer and it
is no longer under warrenty. Could someone please
explain to me how to get xp off my computer? Thank you

If you have a bootable version of both Windows 98 and Windows XP,
then you did not perform an upgrade. Either you selected "New Installation"
during XP's setup phase or you purchased an OEM version of XP which
does not permit upgrading over Windows 98.

1. Delete the Windows XP partition.
2. Create a new partition.
3. Format the new partition FAT32.
4. Install your desired Operating System.
