Windows 7 spyware options

I bought a new computer with Windows 7. My internet offers Windows Live
OneCare for older operating systems, but it is not compatible with Windows 7.
Instead they offer McAfee® VirusScan, McAfee® Personal Firewall Plus, and
Webroot Spy Sweeper. I was able to install both McAfees, but the Webroot Spy
Sweeper is not available for Windows 7, at least not at this time.

Is there another option currently available for Windows 7?

Windows Defender is built-in to Windows 7, as it was to Vista--so there's no
need to download it.

The Mcafee product may or may not include spyware coverage. If it does, I
would expect it to disable Windows Defender, and this is appropriate--let it
do it.

If you type "windows defender" into the search box in Windows 7, it should
tell you the current status of the program and allow you to enable it if it
is disabled. However, if it is disabled because of the McAfee install--I'd
leave it that way.

I don't know the answer about Webroot. However, have you considered
skipping what your ISP offers and instead trying Microsoft Security
Essentials (MSE, free), SuperAntiSpyware (free), Spyware Blaster (free)
and Comodo Personal Firewall (free, skip the AV)? These are common
favorites, all considered very good.

I don't think that his ISP is offering the free McAfee® I think it is Dell.
I just ordered a new puter from Dell with 3 years of McAfee® included. Is
this better than MSE? One probably should not have both.
