Yes Andrew,

Start->Run->wuaucpl.cpl takes you to the AU options control panel
applet. Also please make sure that AutomaticUpates service is enabled
on your machine and is running.

Yes there is a way to get automatic updates. GO to your
Control Panel which is located on your START -->SETTINGS --
CONTROL PANEL --> AUTOMATIC UPDATES
