Windows 2000 SP4 down to SP3

P

Phil Kyle

We have just received servers from DELL which are
preloaded with Windows 2000 Server SP4. Due to
compatibilty issues of our application software we
require SP3 to be loaded.

The installation disks appear to install SP4 as a
default. Is there a way to override this feature and
install SP3 only?

Any ideas or comments?

If you purchased them directly from Dell, I would think they could/would
help you.

I only had success by installing over it, using the MSDN
W2K CD:

I installed Windows 2000, then selected Repair
installation. It did not require my ERD or backup, and
there is no SP installed afterwards. Registry is intact.
I'm installing SP3 now.
