Windows 2000 server unexpected shutting down

Henry Lee

hi , all
This morning our exchange server2000/sp4 has no response. Then I found
out the win2000 server is in the unfinished shutting down mode.
After manually shut down and reboot the system , I found the only trace is
the event ID 6008 "The previous system shutdown at 4:31 am on 1/5 was
unexpected. "
The server has PC anywhere host software installed which is easy for me to
remote control from home. But I have no idea why unexpected shut down happen
in the mid night. It is a really scary thing for me. We can not allow this
accident happen again.
Anyone can help me with this problem ?
Very very appreciated
Henry

Why are you using PCanywhere? I would remove it and use Terminal Services
(which is built into the OS). I can remember back when PCA used to BSOD
Windows 2000 servers.

Is PCAnywhere a company wide standard?
