Windows 2000 shutdown was unexpected

The Dell server ran well for over a year. Recently, it
locked (or shutdown unexpected, with event ID 6008) quite
often. Almost once every other day. Dell sent tech quy to
replace the CPU and Motherboard. The problem seems went
away for few days. Then it came back again. Now the
system still lockup daily. This server is just a file/web
server for our company with only Windows 2000 server
installed.

The "unexpected shutdown" may be a power problem. I would look at a possible
faulty (or undersized) pc power supply, UPS, bad battery, or the circuit
feeding the outlet that the pc is plugged into.

Here is a fairly reliable test of your mains supply:
Connect another Win2000 PC to the same power outlet,
then see if it fails too when the server reboots. Make sure
it does not go into an automatic reboot after a mains
failure!
