When my windows 2000 pro, boots up fine. Then nothing will
open, or load. It tries to load a program but locks up.
What gives??

Need a lot more info than this. Did it start happening after you
installed or changed a program? What program is trying to load? What if
you boot in safe mode, does it work? If so can you then uninstall or
disable the statup of the prgram that is trying to load in normal mode?
