Demographics: Windows 2000 Professional, SP4, and never needed to
update MS Internet Explorer because I'm using another default browser.
Situation: Sometimes I leave "Windows Explorer" windows open when I
shut-down the computer in the evening. When I boot the computer in the
morning, that window returns. I like that.
Here is what has happened: I loaded a freeware program that "requires"
MS Internet Explorer version 6---so I loaded IE6. Now, when I leave the
"Windows Explorer" window open at shut-down, that window does NOT
return at boot-up.
Assumption: IE6 changed something in the registry that allowed open
windows to persist across boot-ups.
Where is the REG key or entry that controls whether or not windows that
were open at shutdown will reopen at the next bootup?
Thanks!
