Windows 2000 Pro - Thumbnails and Picture Viewer

I am running Windows 2000 Pro with all SP's and patches.

Earlier today I was able to see thumbnails of my JPG pics (in Windows
Explorer) - but no longer. When I could see the thumbnails, the default
application was Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0.

I changed the JPG association to Internet Explorer (because that loads pics
much quicker) - and can no longer see the thumbnails. In thumbnail view, I
get a square box with the Internet Explorer icon.

On a related question - is there a Windows 2000 Pro application like Windows
XP Pro Picture and Fax Viewer - which shows the thumbnails along the bottom
of the screen, shows full size pics as a slide show, and can switch from pic
to pic by clicking the right arrow or by double clicking a thumbnail?

Your assistance will be most appreciated.

Have a great day ... Ian

Also running WIN2KPRO. Although PhotoShop CS is my default image
editor, a friend who's a 3D animator & graphic designer introduced me
to a simple, fast and free image viewer that I highly recommend. It
has thumbnail, slide show and image view functions which are
excellent.

It's called Irfanview. Go to http://www.irfanview.com/ to read more
about it and download. The full programme is free, easy to use and
takes up little room on your hard drive. It's great!
