Missing Thumbnails...

Win2000

Hello,

Here is my problem. I just installed the Windows 2000 Professional OS
in my 900MHz Pentium 3 with 360+ Mbytes of RAM. (I previously ran
Windows ME without problems.)

When I click on view | select thumbnail in the MY PICTURES folder
options, ONLY the spaces for the thumbnail pictures show up with the
name and associated extension -- BUT NO IMAGE THUMBNAILs.

I should add that all of the BMP files show up as thumbnails, but the
JPGs and GIFs do not. However, both the JPG and GIF pictures display
their respective default viewer's icon - but there just aren't any
thumbnails. There must be a permission that I am overlooking.

Any Ideas...

Hello Brian,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I found three instances of
that file (of varying sizes). Two were in a ham radio software
program that is working perfectly, and a third was in a "Documents and
Setting" subfolder. I changed that one's name and rebooted. But,
still no Thumbnails, just spaces for them.

Any other suggestions?

Hello Brian,

I tried that too without any luck. I also put "new" pictures in a
"new" and different folder. I then went to view and chose Thumbnails.
Same thing. Just the placeholders and no pictures. Any other ideas?

Pete
