Thumbnails view not working

I am running windows 2000. When I open a folder with jpeg images saved in it
and go to the toolbar and select view then thumbnails the display no longers
shows a thumbnail of each picture. It only shows a blank square instead of a
thumbnail image of each picture in the folder. How can I fix this so that I
can see the picutres again?

Hi,

Go to tools-Folder Options - View Tab - Show Hidden folders and files.
Go to the location of where your pictures are stored. Change view to
Details or list. Delete the thumbs.db and then view by thumbnails
again. This will recreate the thumbs.db and hopefully fix the problem.

Cheers,

I don't think there is a thumbs.db in Windows 2000 Lara. That is Windows XP. This is a result of an
Image program removing the CLSID for thumbvw.dll in the image type. Actually what they do is change
the default say for .jpg to itself; do not include the CLSID in their new (default); and oila no more
thumbnail view for that image type.

Hi,

=
Windows XP.

Oops. I have been using XP so long I forgot that Windows 2000 doesn’t
have the .db files. I only use W2k at work and don’t use pictures at
all. I just got an email from my Winxpnews online mag and its solution
was to delete the .db. Of course that would be for XP =).

Thanks

Lara
