Cti- When you say the desktop locks, do you mean after a period of time
with no activity the system will lock and require a CTL-ALT-DEL and
password to unlock?
If this is the case:
1. right click on the desktop, choose properties
2. click on the screen saver tab
3. uncheck the box that says "Password Protected"
This will allow your screen saver to run and be you just need to start
typing or move your mouse to shut off the screen saver.
