Windows 2000 install after system crash

Please help, at wit's end!

After last Microsoft security updates on my Win 2000 RAID 5 server, I
rebooted and the server would not boot. After a full day of hardware
troubleshooting I got it working, but could not log into Windows again.
Sometimes after logon screen I would get dialog box that said 'Unknown
Error" and then it would reboot. No filename was listed in the box. I
tried the ERD, the recovery console, no dice. I finally decided to
install a fresh copy, as my critical files were backed up.

When I tried a new install, it found my c:\winnt folder and attempted
to repair it. It kept hanging when attempting to copy files (sometimes
@ 4%, sometimes 13%, usually on the driver.cab file of some .dll
files.) After numerous attempts at repair, I tried a fresh copy. I
tried to keep the NTFS file system intact and install a fresh copy. It
hung in the same place. I ran an NTFS chkdsk program. It found errors
which it says it repaired, but it still didn't work

Finally I tried a full install with a format of the drive. It is stuck
again @ 13% on the driver.cab file.

I checked the CD, there are no scratches, I even made a copy on a brand
new CD and it's doing the same thing!

What can I do???????
