My computer freezes up the moment I turn it on. I then
have to reboot 2 or 3 times or let it sit frozen for 20
minutes and then reboot it once. It's unbelievable. I've
had suggestions from it's a worm in my system to a memory
configuration problem. No sucess yet.
First thing to do is elliminate any viruses. Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and run a remote scan.
Next thing to do is elliminate any spyware/malware. You can use SpyBot: http://www.safer-networking.org/
Other things to do if that does not solve your problem:
Stick the Windows disk into the CD-ROM and run Windows setup and choose the
Repair option.
Download and Install the latest Windows Service Pack, and Security Patches.
Click on Start, and select Windows Update.
Good luck.
Note: once you have things working again, be careful about allowing
so-called "helpful" utilites like Precison Time, Calendar, and Toolbars to
be installed; often they come with unwanted baggage - spyware!
Hope that helps!

Since you say it "freezes up the moment I turn it on", it would appear
the you have a "hardware" issue that is corrected by the system heating
up to operating temperature. The operating system is loaded "after" the
hardware is working and plays no part in the problem. Remove the cover
and try reseating all components and cables in the box and hopefully
it's not something like a defective/cracked motherboard.
