WINDOWNS MAIL UNABLE TO EMAIL FROM BYTE PRO

I JUST PURCHASE A NEW COMPUTER WITH VISTA .I AM HAVING PROBLEMS EMAILING INFO
FROM A PROGRAM CALLED BYTE PRO FROM ONE LOCATION TO ANOTHER. I GET THIS
MESSAGE: A MAPI COMPATIBLE EMAIL COMPONENT WAS NOT FOUND ON THIS MACHINE.
PLEASE INSTALL A COMPATIBLE EMAIL CLIEN(SUCH AS MS OUTLOOK). WHY? AND HOW CAN
I GET AROUND THIS PROBLEM. THANKS

Go into the Default Programs applet and make sure Windows Mail
has all of its defaults.

Outlook 2003 has been reported to work very well with Vista.

I don't know about MAPI, but Windows Mail works with the MAILTO
protocol.
