Window Media Player

Just recently I have tried to play a DVD using Media Player. The movie will
start then the computer locks up. Even CTrl&Alt & Delete does not clear
this up.
I can use Power DVD to watch the Movie.
Does anyone else has the problems.
How can I fix the problem?
I even uninstall and reinstall Media Player.
Thanks

You don't say what version of Windows XP you have (with service pack)
nor what version of Windows Media Player you have. Neither did you
explain what kind of DVD you are trying to play

However, in general, video decoding software is required to play movies
(if that's what you're trying to do), and Windows Media Player does not
ship with decoding software. PowerDVD does include decoding software,
which is included in the price.
