window host process 32 svchost hangups

window host process 32 svchost.exe hangup and lock up i think thats the name
of it can't remember something like that. is this cause by a firewall?
because i currently have window host process 32 on automatic on my norton
internet security 2005 should i permit all to avoid this issue. its the first
time i get this error and i've been using NIS 2005 for 4 months now without a
problem until yesterday when i turn on my computer and receive a pop up about
window host process 32 svchost.exe

It's important to note that SERVICE HOST is not a bug. It is a required
service. SVCHOST.exe runs runs DLLs. In my case, a DLL might be experiencing
a problem or might be corrupted. These problems might be caused by viruses,
trojans--or spy software. SVCHOST.exe runs a DLL. If a specific DLL is
corrupted, you have to identify what app is causing the DLL call. The Event
Viewer helps here.

Try to find the error message and post back.

You are mixing with rundll32. Services run by SVChost mostly start as
executables. But it runs a slew of them for the system and is essential
to that. Unfortunately the malware people seem to have got in on the
act and are setting up spurious services at boot. Consult
