Win98 Registry Upgrade

I installed XP overtop of Win 98, although I should have
done so from setup when Win 98 was already running, as
opposed to booting from the CD to setup. So setup
installed a clean XP to a working 98 partition, without
losing the programsm but losing all of the setup and
configs from '98. So now, for example, although MS Office
is still in a root subdirectory, it is not in the start
menu or registry. So, having backed up the '98 system
beforehand, how can I get these config files to the new
XP system without the labor intensive and time consuming
route of reintalling '98, and upgrading correctly? Is
there a utility from upgrasing '98's registry to XP?
Please?

You'll need to perform a "Clean Install" of Windows XP,
then reinstall all your programs using the original installation
CDs.

You're better off following Carey's advice and doing a "clean" install
of WinXP. You'll be glad you did!
