Win2KPro printing to Win98 shared w/password

I am having an access issue with a Windows 2000 Pro PC attempting to print to a Win98 PC with a password protect option on the shared printer(workgroup setup). The printer is an HP Color deskjet 2500C connected by parallel cable to the Win98 PC. Both the 2000 and 98 PCs are in the same workgroup and also login to a Novell network- they use TCP/IP for
printing and both have NetBEUI installed. I can browse the network and add the printer to the Windows 2000 PC but get an access denied message when attempting to print to it. Another Win98 PC is able to successfully print to the Win98 PC after being prompted for the password...the Win2K PC does not even get a prompt for password, just the error.

Any clues?

This sounds pretty much like my problem. I'll continue to
work it. If you find a solution, I would be interested.
I'll reciprocate if I find one.
