Win2K to Win XP

Here's my problem...

1) XP does not support dynamic disks.

Here's the scenario:

Moved a basic disk and dynamic disk from an old machine to a new machine.
Once HDs were moved I had to re-install the OS. I decided to go with XP
because I had an extra copy and no other reason. Once XP was installed I
discovered that XP does not support dynamic disks. I go to the MMC and load
up the Disk Management tool only to discover that in order to use the dynamic
drive it needs to be converted to a basic drive.

Problem: Converting to a basic drive destroys ALL of the data on the disk.

Is there a way to safeguard the data on the dynamic disk and safely move it
to XP??

Install the dynamic drive back in the old machine and record
the data to a CD or DVD.

place. try searching this newsgroup, help and support, and the admin group.
Sorry, I forgot which one.
