Why Can't I set up a Disk Mirror on XP Pro

I am looking for 1 of 2 things from replys to this post.
1. an anwser that works.
or
2. a Microsoft employee to tell me that it cant happen. So if you dont
get paid by M$ dont tell me I cant do it.

Product Documnetation:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/.../all/proddocs/en-us/sag_diskconcepts_04a.mspx
Dynamic disks -
Dynamic disks provide features that basic disks do not, such as the
ability to create volumes that span multiple disks (spanned and striped
volumes), and the ability to create fault-tolerant volumes (mirrored
and RAID-5 volumes). All volumes on dynamic disks are known as dynamic
volumes.

More Documentation that it works
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314343/EN-US/
Dynamic Disk Storage -
Dynamic storage is supported in Windows 2000 and Windows XP
Professional. A disk initialized for dynamic storage is called a
dynamic disk. A dynamic disk contains dynamic volumes, such as simple
volumes, spanned volumes, striped volumes, mirrored volumes, and RAID-5
volumes.

Anyway there is my proof that it Technically does work. However why
cant I get it to work on a system drive. I can get it work on
non-system drives.

With your attitude, you may get a lot of answers to your
personality. There are very few paid MS workers here, this
is a newsgroup, not tech support.
see
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...p/all/proddocs/en-us/dm_dynamic_overview.mspx
also Google for RAID

Does your hardware support RAID, either on the mobo or a PCI
RAID card?

Well truthfully, I dont think that there is an a correct answer to my
question. That is why I want answer from M$ to tell me why product
documentation states I can do a software raid, but in implentation I
cannot.

Yes I know that I could get a raid card, but that costs 50 bucks or so
that I shouldnt have to pay for when I have paid m$ the money for
something I should be able to have it.

As far as my attitude, I have had a first grade teacher and if you
think that I need adjust my attitude you can kiss my a$$.

That is why I put a disclaimer stating I didnt want to here from dip
$hits like you.

Thank you Mike for replying, and unfortuantly I am a dumb a$$ my self
for not fully understanding that KB article. Yes I read later the
information you posted and I agree later he does say that it can be
done, although I do maintain. That in the other document I referance
it does say that you can Mirror the volume. Since this is in the
product docmentation you should support this.

Look at the bottom of this page.
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/.../all/proddocs/en-us/sag_diskconcepts_04a.mspx

there is a table and in the table it states
The following table depicts storage types and partition styles in
Windows XP and :
it clearly has a X under the column that states Raid 5 and Mirrored
Volumes.

Please explain this one.

PS I really do think you guys do a great job, that is why I am posting
this because I do expect answers when I post questions here.
