Is Microsoft going to offer a upgrade for Win 2000 like the SP2 service pack
for win XP ?

They have already released 4 service packs to date for Windows 2000 and they
will probably issue a fifth one before the end of its life cycle, but I wouldn't
count on them investing the same amount of resources as they did with Windows XP
SP2.

The mainstream support for Windows 2000 ends on 30-Jun-2005.

Just my opinion.

Why get rid of a product that is so good so soon. most people myself
included like win2k as it's stable and not resource hungry like Win XP. I
have Win XP and while it's not too bad it's just not as well setup for me as
win2k.

For me... If M$ doesn't come out with SP5, then fine. If M$ does, then
great. Meanwhile, Win2k isn't going anywhere fast. As long as there are
hard drives, there will be Win2k. M$ can't just zap it off our hard drives.
