Win2k Server Terminal Services

By default the Server only allows two concurrent remote connections through
Terminal Services. Can this be increased if licenses are purchased? Also,
what is the advantage of having a Terminal Server in place? I need to deploy
four Win2k Servers to four different WAN sites. These servers would be access
remotely using Terminal Services and would like to know if a Terminal Server
would be a better solution for licensing. Not to sure how everything works.
Any advise is appreciated.

If a TS is in application server mode, you can connect as many sessions as
your hardware can handle, assuming you have the proper licenses.

In a WAN environment many companies put a terminal server farm on the same
network as their other servers (database, email, file/print), then have users
connect over the WAN via RDP or ICA. This uses much less bandwidth than if
users were accessing their files, email, databases over the WAN connection.
