WIN2K PRO Standby mode

Just upgraded from 98se to 2000 pro and standby mode does
not work. After hitting the standby button the screen goes
black and the power light stays solid(no blinking as in
standby mode. Have to do a power down and reboot. The
function worked great on my system with 98se installed.
Nothing new, just the O/S.
This was a fresh install not an upgrade to existing OS.

Gigabyte 7VAXP M/B
AMD Athalon XP2600
Micron 512 meg DDR ram
Western digital 80 gig HDD 2 partition
Windows 2000 pro SP4
