No standby mode

J

just me

I had WinME on my computer and back then had both
hibernate and standby modes. Both worked well. I upgraded
to WinXP Pro and now I don't have the standby option
anymore - it simply does not appear in the shutdown
window or in the power management options in control
panel. The button combination that used to put the
computer in standby manually doesn't function anymore
either.

Installed service pack, but no change.

Any ideas?

Visit the support website of the manufacturer of your computer or video card.
Search for the latest Windows XP compatible video adapter drivers.
Download and install them in accordance with the installation instructions.
After installing the correct drivers, you should have the Standby button.
